Your Motivation for December 3, 2018

Hello, and welcome to Monday! It’s Shirley again here to share some motivation with you.

Life can be hard and very demanding. We often find ourselves bogged down and fearful because of events that happen over which we have little to no control.

The horrendous storms of turmoil fill our days and nights with worry and sometimes we don’t see how we will ever be happy again.

A good friend once repeated this quote to me, “Hang on. One day you’ll wake up and realize that the clouds have finally parted and the sun is shining again.”

That was sound advice and goes along with the quote I’ve included above.

The truth is that hard times befall us all. Sometimes we get so caught up in the drama and trauma of those events that we feel lost and alone.

However, above the clouds of fear and helplessness, the sun is shining.

I guarantee it.

One way to conquer over the worry and uncertainty of hard times is to use them as a platform to rise above the clouds.

Slow down for a minute, or even stop what you are doing.

Take time to be grateful for what you have.

Think about how far you have come instead of the defeat you are feeling about where you are.

I guarantee if you look back along the road you’ve traveled you will find that you have traveled farther than you imagined.

That’s when the sun is shining because it brings new understanding and light into your understanding of your life’s travels.

If, while you are basking in the warmth of the sun,  you discover you’ve made a wrong turn, then make the decisions that will propel you in the right direction.

Don’t waste time on regret and self-loathing for going down the incorrect road, be proactive and change your direction.

Be proud that you were able to rise up above the clouds long enough to recognize you have traveled far in the wrong direction.

Yes, life can be very difficult. However, we always have the choice to reassess where we are and take actions to make the corrections in our course and make our lives better.

Chin up, as long as you are alive, there is always hope.
