Hello everyone, welcome to Wednesday!
Bob Hope may have been a great comedian, but this quote from him really hits home this time of year.
Sometimes we can get so caught up in the preparations, decorating, shopping and celebrating with our families that we forget those who are our neighbors.
The homeless man on the street corner, the old person spending their Christmas alone, the child who faces abuse every day, these are people we would rather ignore especially when we are merrymaking.
Want to change the world for the better? Want your kids to understand what all the December holidays are all about?
Then teach them to love others and to show respect and dignity to other people, whether they are like themselves or not.
It doesn’t cost much to reach out to others and show them, love. In fact, it need not cost anything at all.
Christmas caroling, handing out homemade decorations cost nothing. Giving warm socks, food, and gloves to the homeless cost very little.
However, the smiles and memories you make for your family and the people you have shown love to is priceless and will last forever.
Love, that’s what others need and want for Christmas. Just love.
