Your Motivational Quote for October 15, 2018

HI, it’s Shirley of your PatientNextDoor Support Team.

We live in a world where everything is expected to happen quickly.  We want instant gratification in many areas that are better if we take our time. Sometimes, we just have no choice.

I have been very ill over the past few decades. I won’t go into specifics, suffice it to say, it has held me back from meeting all the goals I wanted in life.

In the view of our modern fast-paced society, I am a failure. I didn’t get married until I was 33 and that failed. I attempted over and over again to graduate from college and finally received my diploma after 37 years of trying.

However, what Confucius said so many years ago is very true.

I have realized in my middle-aged life, that the things that take you the longest time to achieve are the ones you hold the dearest.

I have a great amount of self-satisfaction that I was able to finally graduate. Not only this, but the slow pace gave me an edge when it came to grades. I was more mature when I finally returned to college the last time, and as a result got excellent grades.

I have a deeper understanding of my single life as well. I like being single. I do not need a companion to complete me, because I am enough.

Don’t let the world dictate to you how fast or far you must go to be considered a success. Sometimes the biggest successes are those made by the people who have tried the hardest. No matter how long it takes us to achieve what we want in life, it is all good.

Enjoy your life. Stop pushing and pushing until you are depressed and overwrought. I mean, really, we are all in this together and none of us are getting out of life alive.
